It was brought to my attention that Wednesday is Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. What a weird idea, but hey, I can roll with it. I love treats. I live for treats. I dream about treats. Big treats. Little treats. Tasty treats. Any treats. So this is my kind of day. Actually a “Daily Biscuit Day” might be in order. So Anne went out searching for the healthiest treat she could find for me. No wheat, no corn, no soy, no gluten, no sugar, no fillers, no meal, no grain, low glycemic index, no preservatives, no dye, no this, no that. Nope. Nope. Nope. None of it did she want to give me. Just pure unadulterated wholeness. She went here. She went there. Read labels. Read more labels. Now mind you, this is a woman that can put away a package of peppermint patties in one breath, so what could really be wrong with a little of this and a little of that. She finally concluded that the “AIR BISCUIT” would be the best treat for me. I had never heard of the air biscuit. It is similar to the “Wish sandwich, ” but less. No fat, no sugar, no carbs, no protein, no calories. This is when the negotiating started. Our compromise . . . her compromise. The carrot.
