I just got my DNA in the mail. Stutter, splurt, huh!? Seriously, impossible. How do I remove Yorkshire terrier from myself? Can the test be right? Just how important is DNA?

Ollie,
Seriously……Yorkshire Terrier. Oh yeah, I can see the resemblance, your long flowing, silky locks. NOT! I would definitely stick with Whippet. Oh, and tell Anne to put the card in a drawer so no one can find.
I am perfluxed and disfused about the Yorkshire Terrier situation.
We did the same test on our dog & got better results the second time! The thing is (and it’s in the smallprint somewhere) if your dog has a lot of breeds in him, they get diluted. So for something to show up in the “primary” section they pretty much need to be near-purebred. Similar for secondary. And “in the mix” is just whatever else they can possible identify! I was surprised to learn that your dog can look like 1 particular breed, but that “look” could be the result of just .5% of that breed’s DNA in him.
On our 2nd try, we did the swab for much longer, and made sure to do it a little rougher, just to make sure it “took.” But I’m with you as far as guessing what he is: looks don’t deceive!
