I had a doggie personality test today. Anne said she hoped it might help easy my worries about having any smidge of Yorkshire terrier in me. Actually, it was sort of a combination Myers-Briggs, healing spiral labyrinth for dogs, backyard kinda thing. Talk about a mixed message. The idea was for me to walk through the spiral, breathing evenly, and be able to pass up my toy. If I were a Yorkshire terrier I, A – wouldn’t want to go outside because the threat of rain would ruin my long, flowing, silky, soft coat. B – would want to put a bow on all the oranges. C – would be afraid the oranges might attack me D – wouldn’t be able to figure out how to get out the doggie door.
Apparently I passed with flying colors, although everything looked like a toy and a treat to me. The spiral is a very powerful and healing experience. I felt calm, like Ella, afterwards, for a moment. I am no longer worried about what I am or who I am, for now. And I smelled of orange zest, which isn’t a bad thing to smell like. I wish there had been a spiral in Tahrir Square.
